It is with great sadness that the family of the late Loretta May Reid (nee Newman) announce her passing on Thursday, July 10th 2014 at the Deer Lake Manor at the age of 87. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Melvin (Peggy) Reid, Deer Lake; Daphne Fillier, Englee; Ford (Donna) Reid, La Scie; Doyle (Irene) Reid, Deer Lake; Guy (Nancy) Reid, Reidville; Phyllis (Wayne) Lodge, Reidville; Doreen (Wilson) Osmond, Fort Nelson B.C; Eugene (Debbie) Reid, Marathon, Ontario; Edna (David) Manuel, Fort McMurray, Alberta; Dean Reid, Halifax, Nova Scotia; Frank (Deborah) Reid, Deer Lake, Her 35 grandchildren: Terry Reid, Tania Berdine, Jackie (Sterling) Randell, Jody Fillier (Brendan), Steven (Janice) Fillier, Buck (June) Fillier, Simon (Jennifer) Fillier, Angus (Stephanie) Fillier, Troy (Cheryl) Penny, Monica (Ralph) Penny, Joanne Penny, Karen Richter (John), Danny Reid, Dale (Crystal) Reid, Jackie Reid (Bernie), Dwayne Reid, Trevor (Jennifer) Reid, Craig (Krista) Reid, Christa (Scott) Wilton, Courtney Reid, Chad (Kerry Leigh) Reid, Angie Lodge-Whalen, Andy (Pam) Lodge, Jason (Sherry) Reid, Jamie Reid (Sara), Tracey (David) Clarke, Stephen (Ashley) Osmond, Nicolas Manuel (Kayla), Kelly Manuel (Mat), Michael Manuel, Kayla (Michael) Potter, Kristopher Reid, Kenny Elms (Melanie), Julie Burt, Jamie (Kim) Burt and her 42 great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters in law: Ludwick (Ethel) Reid; Englee, Osbourne (Bessie) Reid; Badger, Dianne (Randolph) Lane; Bide’s Arm, Joyce (Raymond) Leaman; St. John’s, Shirley Simmons; St. John‘s, special son in law Clarence Penny (Carolyn), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eli Reid, daughter Linda Penny and grandson Fred Welshman. Friends may visit the Salvation Army Citadel in Deer Lake on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9PM, from where the funeral will be held on Sunday, July 13th at 2:30 PM with Majors Henry and Beatrice Bingle officiating. Interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Wight’s Road. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army Church.
