On Thursday, July 10, 2014, Norma Meredith passed away peacefully at home with family at her side at the age of 81. Norma leaves to mourn, her children Jess (Deanna), Lawrence (Doreen), Marie Jinjoe, Goldie (Ken) Marcia, Barbara, Michael (Kim) and Teresa; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Mavis (Don) Golumbus; brother Mel (Gloria) Wall; brother-in-law Pat (Shirley) Meredith. She was predeceased by her husband Edward; son Lee; her parents; her brothers and sisters and in-laws. She met the love of her life as a child and reconnected with Edward in 1951. They married April 25, 1953 and raised their family in Moose Jaw until 1968 when they moved to Prince Albert so Edward could start a new job as a sheet metal worker. Edward started his own business in the early 70’s. Norma was active with the Cosmo Pals and with the Herb Basssett Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed numerous crafts, knitting, crocheting, quilting and also enjoyed reading. Norma worked as a nurse’s aide in Moose Jaw and later worked at the old Lyons Nursing Home in Prince Albert. She also worked at Woolco for a short time. Her biggest job of all was raising her 8 children. Norma lived with her two daughters Barbara and Teresa for the years preceding Edwards’s death. Special thanks to the Palliative Care team, Dr. Surkan and Father Travis Myrheim. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 589 – 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Celebrant Reverend Father Travis Myrheim. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PO Box 12013 Stn Brm B, and Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3 or to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 – 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7G 0S5. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Lorne Adams, Funeral Director (306-922-4729).
