The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday, July 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, of James William Hickey Jr., aged 90 years, of Darnley.
Born in Darnley on January 30, 1924, son of the late James Sr. and Annie (Abbott) Hickey.
Left to cherish his memory are children, Gary (Maria) Hickey, Myles (Cheryl) Hickey and Marsha (Kevin) Nettle; grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia, Michelle, Andrea, Matthew, Ian and Haden; sister, Myra Chadwick; brother-in-law, Ivan (Gertrude) Beairsto; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Beairsto and Mary Hickey; and many well-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by his wife, Erma Hickey (nee Beairsto); daughter, Sandra Rose Hickey; and many special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and friends.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday in the Princetown United Church, Malpeque, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
