Beatrice Leger

LEGER, BEATRICE MARY - On Sunday, July 13, 2014, Beatrice “Bea” Leger, of the Loch Lomond Villa, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Margeurite (Leger) Crossman, and was the loving wife of the late Gerald Leger. Bea loved her family and was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband Gerald spent many years volunteering with the Saint John Boys and Girls Club. They also had many wonderful trips to Moncton in the summer to visit with family at the lobster boils. Bea’s favorite thing to do after Gerald’s passing was to go for a long drive. In her eyes, you could never drive far enough or be gone too long. She will be missed. She is survived by her son Gerald (Betty) Leger; daughters Sandra (Frank) Arseneau, Margaret (Les) Craig and Christine (Richard) Erb; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several extended family members. Bea was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Reginald and Joseph Crossman and her sisters Lilian Leger, Josephine Stevens, Mary Crossman and Anita Leger.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will take place Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and the funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at the funeral home. Donations in Bea’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choosing would be appreciated by the family.
