Sarah Ewert passed away Monday June 23, 2014 at the Swift Current Care Centre. The memorial service with Dennis Braun officiating was held at 2:00 pm at Warren's Funeral Chapel following the interment service at Schoenfeld Cemetery. Sarah was born March 19, 1922 at Swift Current to Cornelius and Anna (Penner) Fehr and was raised in the Wymark area. As a young girl she worked for various families as a domestic. Sarah was married to Jacob Ewert in Medicine Hat, AB in May 1947 and lived in Swift Current, SK and helped at the farm in Lienan area, gardening and raising chickens and turkeys and working as a waitress in various restaurants and coffee shops in Swift Current. Sarah enjoyed growing a large garden, canning her vegetables and baking and cooking also sewing and quilting were her interests. Sarah belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, dancing, cribbage at the Legion, and Bingo. Sarah is survived by her children Lawrence (Noreen) Ewert, Elaine (Peter) Ginter, Christine (Jim) Sowden, grandchildren Robert Ewert, Edward Ewert, Shellie Ginter, Blair Ginter, Katie Sowden, Paul Sowden, 9 great grandchildren, brother Henry (Sarah) Fehr, and sister Katherine Fehr. Sarah was predeceased by her husband Jacob Ewert, parents Cornelius and Anna Fehr, brothers Cornelius, David, John, Jake, sisters Agatha, Agnes, Mary, Margaret, 2 infants and in-laws Ann and Harold Martinson, Beatrice Fehr, Mabel Fehr, Cornelius Dyck and Henry Martin.
