Passed in: Sydney Mines
Passed on: July 13th, 2014
Rosina Angela (Iannetti) Arseneault, known to her loved ones as Rosie, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the Northside General Hospital.
Rosie was born and lived in Sydney Mines. She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Juliette (Constantine) Iannetti. She was a member of Holy Family parish, Sydney Mines.
Rosina cherished life and embraced each and every day with great devotion. She enriched the lives of family and friends with love, kindness and wisdom. Rosina’s kitchen was always a destination for love and hospitality. Right up to her last moments, she shared with family and friends; an unforgettable smile that you knew went straight to her heart.
Rosina’s passion was recreating her family recipes, which her parents brought from Italy many years before. Rosina enjoyed her home, as well as her garden; the flowers and her little birds, the smells and sounds of summer, all the most simple of life’s pleasure. As a child, she attended school in Cheticamp with her siblings, where she studied music and French, and made life-long friendships with whom she continued to correspond, well into her adult years.
Rosina is survived by her husband John Francis Arsenault; her children Marley Boutilier, Little Pond, Anne Bagnell (Graham), Bedford, N.S., Francis, at home, and Anthony, Toronto; grandchildren Shawn Boutilier, Tanya Boutilier and Benjamin Bagnell, and great-grandchildren Emma and Olivia Boutilier. She is also survived by siblings Norena Iannetti and James (Jimmy) (Pauline) Iannetti.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Laticia, Franky, Amilio, Armundo, Abbey, Patsy, Joe (Puppy), Louie and Johnny, and her son-in-law Bernard Boutilier (Bernsie), Little Pond.
Special thanks are extended by the Arsenault and Iannetti family to the EHS Emergency Service, Northside Homemakers, and VON for their wonderful care. Special thanks also for the care and presence of Rita Dipersio, Pat Iannetti, Angela Iannetti, and Pauline and Jimmy Iannetti, and her sister and best friend, Norena (Nodi), and all the loving relatives who gave continuous support over the years.
There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, with Fr. Thomas (Tom) John Valiaveetil officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosina’s memory may be made to the cemetery fund of St. Joseph/St. Mary, Shore Road, Sydney Mines.
