EVANS, RODNEY HERBERT - Rodney H. Evans, 71, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Born in Humphreys, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hilda (Urquhart) Evans and was raised by his grandmother, the late Della Urquhart. Rodney was a retired baker with Eastern Bakeries with 45 years’ service and attended Sunny Brae Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Canadian Army with three years’ service, a member of the Air Force Veterans Club and a proud member of B.C.T.G.M. Local 406. Rodney will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47 years, Sheila (Tingley) Evans; precious children, Krista Aiton (Mike Gallant) of Riverview and Mark Evans (Tracy) of Lower Coverdale; cherished grandchildren, Grace and Ian Evans and Lily and Ashley Aiton.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Cecil Symes officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
