Roland “Bill” Cook

The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary on Saturday, July 12, 2014 of Roland Thomas “Bill” Cook of Locke Road aged 77, beloved husband of Margaret (Gill) Cook.
Roland was a seasonal employee with Maritime Packers, working at Carribou, Little Harbour, Skinners Cove and Lark Harbour, NL from 1958 to 1973.
Born in Cape Wolfe on January 2, 1937, son of the late Fulton and Pearl (Cousins) Cook.
Cherished Dad to Russell (Lori), Endako, BC; Luetta (Michael) Howard, Locke Road; Kirby (Kim), Locke Road. Loving Grampa to Steven, Patrick, Colin and Blair Cook, Margaret Howard (Jaron Harris), Tom and Laura Cook, step-grandchildren: Kim Gallant and Jenniffer MacKinnon and five step-great-grandchildren.
Roland is also survived by his sisters: Myrna Cook, Karen Cook, Cape Wolfe and Thelma Gillis, Kilmuir; brother-in-law Allan MacMillan; along with 10 nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents , brother and sister in infancy, sister Marian MacMillan, brother-in-law J.W. Gillis, great-niece Rebecca Sentner and father and mother-in-law Harry and Luetta (Gammon) Gill, Lyon’s Brook, NS.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the Cape Wolfe United Church Cemetery.
In memory of Roland, memorials to the Cape Wolfe United Church, Cape Wolfe United Cemetery or the O’Leary Community Health Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated.
