MADSEN, JOHN - John F. Madsen of Riverview passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his family on July 15, 2014 at the age of 65. Born in Saint John, NB, January 10, 1949, he was the son of Leonard C. Madsen and the late Charlotte (MacDonald) Madsen. John is survived by his loving wife Bonnie (Abernethy) Madsen of 45 years, children; Kerrie (Shawn) Dollemont, Patrick (Karen) Madsen, Chandra Madsen, Erin (Ronald Adams) Madsen and his brother, Kris (Germaine) Madsen. He was the proud grandfather of Ethan, Ashley, Hunter, Hayden, Azuri and Taylen. He is also survived by his nephews, Leonard J. (Melissa) Madsen, Alex (Jocelyne Vautour) Madsen, mother-in-law, Gwen Abernethy and many cousins. Aside from his mother Charlotte, John is predeceased by his father-in-law Arthur B. Abernethy.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at Saint John The Baptist Anglican Church, Riverview on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice. A special thank you to the fantastic nurses and doctors of The Moncton Hospital, especially the staff of the Palliative Care unit and the 5600 unit.
