(July 26, 1929 - July 16, 2014) Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, Ronald J. Grant in his 85th year. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary Grant, and his brothers, Jack and Steve. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley (nee Molloy). Also to mourn his passing are: his sister, Mary Kelly (Bill deceased) of Cobourg, Ont, sisters-in-law Mary Turpin (husband Victor) of Corner Brook; Patricia Bennett of Benoit's Cove; and Carmel Molloy of Corner Brook; cherished nieces and nephews: Carmel Turpin (son MacKenzie), St. John's; Norma Turpin (Murdock Brake and son Norman) of Saint Lazare, Que.; David Turpin (Ann Marie) of Corner Brook; Jed Turpin (Brenda) of Corner Brook; Luanne Turpin (Toronto, Ont.); Ian Bennett and family, Petawawa, Ont.; and Tina Clarke, Placentia; special nephew Brian Grant and niece Patricia Clarke and their families, both of St. John's. Also leaving special friends and neighbours: Wallace and Janet Blundell; Gord and Mona King, and Cliff and Yvonne Goodland. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, Thursday and Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Cremation to follow with internment at a later date. Special thanks to the physicians and nursing staff of the Coronary Care Unit and 5 South A, Health Sciences Complex. No flowers by request.
