Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with Alzheimers, in the presence of her children at the Escasoni Complex on July 17, 2014 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry (2013); her parents John and Norah Stamp and 18 siblings. Leaving to mourn her children Harold (Shirley), Peggy, John (Gen), Sharon (Robert), Tom and Lourie Ann (John). Also leaving to mourn her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sister Rita Batterton, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will also be missed by her canine companion Jake, who kept Mom company in her chair during the early stages of her illness. Special thanks to the staff of both Hoyles East 1 and Escasoni West 3 complexes for their dedication to our mother's needs and for providing superior support to our family during Mom's illness. We will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to Mom. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
