Surrounded by her loving family, at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside, Elva Gallant died peacefully on Tuesday July 15th, 2014. Formally from Mont Carmel, she resided at Le Chez-Nous Ltd. Born on July 12th 1929 in Cape Egmont, she recently celebrated her 85th birthday. Daughter of the late Sylvain and Matilda Gallant and wife of the late Alyre H. Gallant. Elva is survived by her children : David, Anne (Wilfred), Freddie of Edmonton AB, Marie-Claire (Ronnie) of Irishtown N.B., Cedric (Norma), Bernice (Donald), Yvon, Paul of Calgary AB, Jeanne (Roger), Lionel of Edmonton AB, Pierre (Donna), Robert and Raymond (Janine). Cherished grandmother of 24 and great-grandmother of 23. Will be forever remembered by her sisters and brother, Antoinette Richard, Ferdinand (Erma) and Emma Arsenault. Survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy, Cyril, Theresa, Leonard, Raymond and Pierre LeBlanc. Predeceased by husband Aylre, infants, Bernice and Pierre, brothers T.Cletus, Hermas and Albert, in-laws Emmanuel R., Nazaire A. and Marie G. Resting at the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Friday July 18, then to the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church, Mont Carmel where funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday July 17th, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday July 18th from 1 to 3 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations made in her memory to the Evangeline Co-op Funeral Home Building Fund or the Wellington Fire Department would be greatly appreciated.
