It is with deep sadness and many fond memories we announce the passing of our dear father John Martin Sweeney on Thursday, July 17, 2014 age 62 of Bell Island. Predeceased and now reunited with his parents Alphonsus and Jenny (Butler), youngest brother Gary and very fond nephew Mark Nolan. Leaving to mourn his wife of 38 years Helen (Hedderson) and two daughters; Janice Walsh (Michael), Erin Kelly (Trevor) and his very special granddaughter Natalie Walsh. Three sisters; Anna Ash (Bob Basha), Frances Nolan (Maurice), Betty Noftle (Gary). Two brothers; Ronnie (Sharon), and Thomas, very special Aunt "Lizzie" Rose, and Uncle Walt Butler (Mary). John will be missed by his nephews, nieces, very close cousins, family and friends. As he wished cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation, Monday, July 21, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Pendergast Funeral Home. Funeral mass, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 St. Michael's Parish, Bell Island at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
