Passed peacefully away at the Dr. L. A. Miller Centre, in the presence of his loving family, on Saturday, July 19, 2014, John F. Traverse, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his parents, William and Kathleen Traverse; brothers: Clarence and Edward; and sister, Mary. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 55 years Josephine (nee Shelley); children: Kathleen Lewis (Mike)(Sackville, NS), Eugene (Leslie)(Russell, ON), Juanita Strang (Burlington, ON), Colleen Combden (Brian)(St. John's, NL), Audrey Traverse (Aubrey Eveleigh)(Thunder Bay, ON), John (Becky)(Cobourg, ON); grandchildren: Pamela, Amanda and Michael Lewis, Alex, Madeline and Jeremy Strang, Steven and Jeffery Combden, Kimberly Traverse, Brooke and Rebecca Eveleigh, Autumn, Brittany and Julia Traverse; great-grandchildren: Abbie Smith, Miah Lewis, Sydney and Taylor Sturge; brother, Don (Bridget); sisters-in-law: Madeline and Betty Traverse; as well as a large circle of relatives and close friends. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Monday, July 21, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will take place from Corpus Christi Parish, Waterford Bridge Road, on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at 9:30am.
