With broken hearts we would like to announce the sudden passing of Sherman Rogers, of Coxheath on July 18, 2014.
Born and raised on Peppett Street, North Sydney the son of the late Clarence and Ethel Rogers, the youngest of eight siblings. He was predeceased by his brother Clarence, and sisters Violet, Margret, and Helen. And survived by brother, Gordon and sisters, Olive and Vivian.
He was the anchor of the family, and will be greatly missed by his wife and soul mate of over 50 years, Evelyn (Townsend); son, Byron (Suzanne); daughters, Patricia, Nancy (Robert Gardner), Kathleen (Martin Shannon) and grandchildren, Ashley, Haley and Michael.
He enjoyed dancing with his wife, camping, travelling, gardening, spending time with his family and watching movies with his grandson. Sherman got to experience and see many wonderful places with his family and friends which he always had great stories to share over the campfire.
He was a very special man with a big heart, everyone who knew him loved him.
He wasn’t just our dad and grandfather he was our fun loving friend. We always knew how much Dad loved us. He was the greatest father we could have asked for.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd from 7-9 p.m. in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 23rd at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating, followed by a reception.
