SARGESON, DOUGLAS - The largely attended funeral of Douglas C. Sargeson was held from Carleton Kirk United Church Saint John, NB, on July 4th, 2014. Doug was born in Welsford, NB, August 11, 1928, the son of the late William and Annie (Fisher) Sargeson-Fox. Doug graduated from Saint John Vocational School in Academics 1946 and Business Administration 1948, employed by Hope Adjustment Bureau Ltd. before joining the RCMP in 1952 serving in Ontario and Quebec- retiring in 1980 as Staff Sargent. Doug played softball for Welsford and Belmont in the old CPR suburban league, was an avid hunter and member of the River Valley Sporting Association as treasurer, was a member of the RCMP Veterans Association and long standing dedicated member of the United Church of Canada having served on several committees. He was the central treasurer of the 3 charges Welsford-Hoyt-Patterson and the board of directors for Welsford Cemetery. Doug is survived by wife Marina (Grieve); two daughters Donna Sargeson (Bob Graziano) Ottawa, Dawn Bourque, Toronto; four grandchildren; two brothers Allen Fox (Linda) of Zealand NB, George (Marilyn Shaw) Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by first wife Mary (Hood) 1986; brother William 2004; sisters Margaret 1923, Elizabeth Moore 2010. Interment took place in Welsford Cemetery.
