It is with great sadness that the family of the late Granville Norman Thistle announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at the age of 57 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his precious daughters: Camille and Alicia; siblings: Shirley (Eldred) Snook, Calvin (May) Thistle, Keith Thistle, Derek Thistle, and Gerald (Judy) Thistle; cousin: Debbie Sheppard, close friends Janette (Freeman) Foote, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Harvey Thistle (1970) and Bertha Marion Thistle (nee Spencer) (2012); sisters: Shirley Thistle and Ruby Sheppard; and brother Terry Thistle. In keeping with Granville’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 167 Country Road on Monday July 28, 2014 between the hours of 12-3 p.m. from where a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. officiated by Majors Max and Doreen Sturge, with interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made in Granville’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
