LeBLANC, SR EDITH - Sister Edith LeBlanc, n.d.s.c., in religion Denise-Marie, of Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at the convent where she resided following a lengthy illness. She was 82 and in her 63rd year of her religious life. Born March 14, 1932 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Denise and Marie-Rose (Goguen) LeBlanc. Besides her religious family, she is survived by one sister, Denise Thellab (late Albert); one brother, Father Fidèle of Moncton, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters: infant Agatha, Aline (Sr Marie-Victor), Lucie (late Jos P. Landry), infant Lorette and infant Maria; four brothers: Dr Victor (Dell), Father Arcade, Roger (late Fernande LeBlanc) and Gérald (late Louise Breau).
Sister Edith will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavillion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Thursday from 2 to 9 pm and on Friday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday July 25, 2014 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
