Norris Bubar

BUBAR, NORRIS BRAMWELL - The passing of Norris Bramwell Bubar of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, husband of Annie “Pauline” (Gorman) Bubar occurred on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the York Care Centre. Born on September 7, 1918 in Nashwaak Bridge, NB he was the son of the late James and Jessie (Newell) Bubar. Norris was a retired farmer. He was a member of Keswick Ridge United Church and also served as Elder and Trustee at both Keswick Ridge and Upper Keswick United Church. Norris was very active for many years in maintaining the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. He enjoyed working in the woods and was still cutting his own fire wood until he was in his 90th year. In addition to his wife, Norris is survived by his son, James (Marilyn) Bubar of Burtts Corner, NB; daughter, Joan (Dr. Howard) Horsman of Riverview, NB; grandchildren, Chris (Donna) Bubar, Andrew (Wendy) Bubar of Burtts Corner, NB, Debbie (Malcolm) Hawkins of Kelly Creek, NB, Dr. Angela Horsman of Moncton, NB, Greg Horsman of Toronto, ON and David Horsman of Moncton, NB; great grandchildren, Benjamin (Jennifer) Hawkins of Auckland, NZ, Alex Bubar of PE, Nicholas Hawkins of Costa Rica/St. Andrews, NB, Jana Bubar of Hartland, NB, Matthew Bubar of Calgary, AB, Christina Hawkins of PE, Joshua Bubar of Fredericton, NB and Tabatha Bubar of Burtts Corner, NB; sister, Mavis (Elwood) Gorman of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Fanny Bubar of Stanley, NB. Besides his parents, Norris was predeceased by brother, Edward Bubar; sisters and brothers-in-law, Neno & Ashley Gorman and Verda & Charlie MacDonald; great granddaughter, Sarah Hawkins.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 12-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. A. David Luker officiating. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Chris Bubar, Andy Bubar, Debbie (Bubar) Hawkins, Gregory Horsman, Angela Horsman and David Horsman. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery, Burtts Corner, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the York Care Foundation or the Keswick Ridge United Church.
