Gladys Melda MacIsaac

Passed in: Glace Bay
Passed on: July 26th, 2014

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother Gladys on July 26, 2014, at Seaview Manor, Glace Bay.
Mom was a loving mother to her seven children who will miss her deeply. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler and later in life took up skating which she enjoyed immensely with her husband Duncan. She was a quiet beautiful person inside and out and will always be remembered as a true lady.
She liked to spend her summers at the family cottage in Big Pond but her heart never wandered far from her birthplace Ingonish, of which she was so proud and would take every opportunity to visit.
Mom was the daughter of the late Mable (Warren) MacLellan and stepfather John MacLellan.
She is survived by her six children, Leo (Marie), Barbara (Robert Taylor), Mary Lou, Robert, all of Glace Bay, Duncan (Goretti), Liverpool, and Michael (Joanne), Sydney River; she also leaves behind to griev her 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Debbie Young; stepbrother Andrew MacLellan and brother-in-law Wallace Whitty.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Duncan, son Paul, granddaughter Laura, sisters Agnes, Joan and Nellie, brothers George and Chester.
There is no visitation by her request. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29 at 10 a.m. in St Anne’s Church with the Rev Leo Boone officiating. The interment will follow at the parish cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank or the Cape Breton Feline Support Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jmcurryfuneralhome.com.
