Passed away peacefully at Nightingale Manor, Gander on July 28th 2014 Brigid Cheeks age 89 years. Predeceased by parents Michael and Marion Rice, husband William, brothers Johnnie, Mick, Liam, sisters Mena and Mary. Brigid was born in Dundalk, Ireland and came to Gander as a nurse in the early 1950's with her lifelong friend Rose Sheppard. Left with loving memories are her son Gary (Carla) of Gander, daughter Marion of St. John's, grandchildren Jack, Matthew, Ciara and Michael. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander with visitation Tuesday July 29th and Wednesday July 30th. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, July 31st at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Gander. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Donations in Brigid's memory may be made to the Central Northeast Health Foundation. “Brigid loved her family and friends dearly, she was greatly loved in return and will ever be missed.” Arrangements entrusted through Stacey's Funeral Home.
