Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park, St. John's, NL, Mary Theresa (Walsh) Soik on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in her 86th year. Mary was born in St. John's, NL on August 13, 1928. Predeceased by her husband, Paul Soik Jr., her parents Edward (Ned) and Angela Walsh, her parents-in-law Paul and Anna Soik of New Jersey, USA, her sisters and brothers; Margaret, Bernard, John (Jack) Katherine (Kitty) Greening, Michael (Mike) and Edward Jr.(Gandy). Leaving to mourn her loss are sisters: Veronica Hillier (David), and Bernadette Blair, brother Patrick and sister-in law Jean (Quirk) Walsh. Mary also leaves numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation can be made to the Alzheimer Association of NL. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from Caul's Chapel on Monday, August 4, 2014 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
