LEGACY, ARTHUR JOSEPH - With heavy hearts, the family of Arthur Joseph Legacy of Grand Bay - Westfield, announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Bathurst, NB, on January 15, 1928, he is the son of the late Joseph and Delima (Arsenault) Legacy and loving husband of 62 years to Regina (Couture) Legacy. Arthur was a hardworking man, giving his best as foreman at Moosehead Breweries for 37 years until his retirement in 1989. He adored his family, making sure they never wanted for anything. His children and grandchildren were his most precious gift. He loved camping and hunting with his best friend and wife Regina and neighbors Bernice and Leonard Petrie. Stories about their endeavours will circulate for many years to come. Arthur also liked to bowl. In addition to his beloved wife Regina, Arthur is survived by his sons Vincent (Patty), Michael (Tondelya), and Blair (Sue Wills); daughter Deborah (Peter) Thibodeau; sisters Edith (Harold) and Jeannette (Dona); grandchildren Victoria, Jonathan, Chrissie, Jessica, Ben, Zackery, Julien and Ericia, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Herbert, Theodore and Edgar Legacy and sisters Rita Belliveau, Yvonne Kruky, Loretta Thibodeau, and Louise Legacy.
Arrangements entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visiting Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur will be held Monday, August 4, 2014 from St. Matthews Catholic Church in Grand Bay-Westfield at 12 noon followed immediately by a reception at the church. Interment in St. Augustine’s Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Bobby’s Hospice for their unfailing care and consideration of Arthur during his stay there, and in lieu of flowers, donations in Arthur’s memory made to Bobby’s Hospice or the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
