MALLOY, VINCENT LAWSON - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vincent L Malloy ,94, on Thursday July 31, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Chipman, N.B., he was a son of the late Daniel and Florence (Johnston) Malloy. Vincent was a veteran of World War II. After a short time with Moosehead , he joined the City of Lancaster Work’s Dept. He was employed with the city for the next 36 years, most as a Foreman. He was a member of CUPE Local 18 (Outside Workers). Vincent was a volunteer Lancaster Firefighter. He was a man of few words but they all counted, and always ready to lend a hand for family and friends. Vincent is survived by three daughters, Shirley Malloy, Debbie (Stephen) Stokes, and Twyla (Paul) Groody, of Saint John, two brothers, Keith (Anne) Malloy, of Chipman, and Harmon Malloy, of Ontario; six grandchildren, Amanda Denton (Kyle Campbell), Braylon Denton, Cyndy-Lynn Denton (Jeff McCain) Matthew Harvey, Michelle Harvey (Ryan Bursey), Celia Groody; two great grand children, Chelsea and Shannon Norwood; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Griffin “Little Man”, and Callie the cat. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marion Gertrude (Kingston) and his grandson Joshua Denton.
Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John E2M 2L3, 634 1701 is entrusted with arrangements. At Vincent’s request, there will be a private family burial service only. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice, N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA would be appreciated.
