DOIRON, GERARD "JERRY" - 1927 - 2014 - Gerard “Jerry” Doiron, 87, of Auberge du Soleil, formerly of Olivier Street, Dieppe, NB, passed away on Thursday, July 31st, 2014, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center. Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Louis and the late Ozithe (née: Robichaud) Doiron. Jerry enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, watching the golf channel and playing pool. He also had a great passion for riding his bicycle, even into his early 80's. He was a member of the Dieppe Recreation Council, Dieppe Volunteer firefighters, Scouting movement and Sainte-Thérèse parish.
He is survived by three sons: Roger (Denise), Michel (Debbie) and Jacques, all of Dieppe; one sister, Maria Doiron of Dieppe; five grandchildren: Denis, Ricky, Kevin, Luc and Chantalle; one great-granddaughter, Kloé, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Zelma in 2002; four sisters: Mina, Dora, Marguerite and Alfreda and also by three brothers: Jacques, Louis and Thaddée.
By request, no visitation will be held at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Sainte-Thérèse Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Monday, August 4th, 2014 at 11 am, with Father Arthur Bourgeois officiating. Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
