Reginald Hooten

HOOTON, REGINALD - Reginald William Hooton, loving husband of Maxine Marie (Mullen) Hooton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 1st, 2014 at Bobby 's Hospice. Born 1927 in Nottingham, England, he was the son of the late William and Clarice (Dexter) Hooton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Brenda and Irene as well as his granddaughter Kelsey Hooton. Reginald worked for Downey Ford for over 54 years. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family. Reg had many great hunting and fishing trips with his boys. Reg was a coach with the Simonds Surburban Hockey League for many years and had many fond memories of this time in his life. As a family, we spent many summers on the Bellisle Bay and on Grand Lake where we made many life-long friends. Besides his summers at the lake, Reg also loved his winters in Florida where many of the family gathered to spend time with mom and dad. Besides his loving wife Maxine of 62 years, Reg is survived by his sons Brian Hooton (Deborah) of Saint John, Christopher Hooton (Susan) of Moncton and Ralph Hooton (Michelle) of Saint John; daughters Pamela Ross of Australia, Wendy Woodhouse (Paul) of England, Susan Hooton of Saint John, Heather Hooton of Vancouver, and Heidi Garland (Dana) of Rothesay; sister Margaret of England, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), visitations will be on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 6th, 2014 at 2:00pm. Remembrances in memory of Reginald may be made to Bobby's Hospice or to the charity of the donor's choice.
