SUTHERLAND (Baillie), Eleanor Betty – 79 of Poplar Hill, passed away peacefully in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on August 2, 2014. Born in River John, she was a daughter of the late Henry & Christine (MacGregor) Baillie. She was a gentle, kind lady whose greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Eleanor was a retiree of Michelin Canada, Granton and a member of St, David’s Presbyterian Church, Toney River. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Keith Henderson), Seafoam; Linda Suzanne (Bill Otter), Waterside; Chrissie (Terry Jamieson), Poplar Hill; Allan (Eva), Archie (Marilyn), both of Pictou; Betty (Rick Muise), Doris (Raymond Langille), both of Poplar Hill; Gary (Kathy), River John Rd. Eleanor is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Anna (James) Baillie, River John; Marguerite (Keith) Robblee, North Wallace; brothers, Jack, Troy, Cape Breton; Ronald (Norma), River John; sisters in law, Fluff Baillie, Pictou; Evelyn Baillie, Verna Baillie, both of River John; Florence Sutherland, Woodstock, Ontario; brother in law, Bill Sutherland, Masset, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh in February 1990, daughter in law, Patsy; brothers, Bill, Kenneth, and Angus; a sister in infancy, several sister in laws and brother in laws. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2 PM in St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Toney River, with Rev. Gregory Dickson officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
