Issac Dixon

Dixon, Isaac – 75 of North River passed away at the QEII, Halifax Infirmary Site on July 31, 2014. Born in Inverness, Cape Breton, he was the son of Alexander and Catherine (Timmons) Dixon. In 1953 Isaac left Cape Breton for Toronto to find work and that is where is met his soulmate, Joan Irene Clarke. After working for many years for the Borough of Etobicoke, he and Joan and their family moved to Truro and opened B & D Glass & Mirror in 1973. After retirement in 1998, he passed the business over to his son Hank. Isaac’s greatest passion beside his grandchildren was his love of old cars. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; sons, William (Leslie); Hank (Pauline);Troy (Shawna) and Kerry (McKeown) Nichols who was very dear to his heart; beloved grandchildren, Danny, Dale, Dylan, Emily, Nicole and great grandchild, Zoe; sister, Beatrice (Jim) Gillis, Inverness. He was predeceased by siblings, Jessie, Alexander and Jean. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6 from 1 until time of the memorial service at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Interment in Aenon Cemetery, North River. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors for their special loving care at 8.1, Halifax infirmary.
