JOHNSON, JOHN WILLIAM - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on August 5, 2014, Mr. John William Johnson, husband of Mrs. Zeta M. (Lackie) Johnson of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born at Saint John, NB on November 10, 1929, he was a son of the late Stafford and Elinor (Hawkins) Johnson. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Zeta, he is survived by one son, Doug (Phyllis) Johnson of Canal, NB; three daughters, Lorene (Jeff) Lisson of Saint John, NB, Janet (Dean Lynch) of Pennfield, NB and Jillian (Bill) Gentleman of Rothesay, NB; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Melville (Mary) Johnson of Moncton, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by his first wife, Irene Johnson and by his grandson, John Johnson. Prior to retirement, John worked as a Millwright for Local 2262 and was employed at Connors Bros in Blacks Harbour for over 20 years. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge # 12 F&AM in St. George NB and a member of the Luxor Shine in Saint John, NB.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. John will be resting at the Family Worship Center, St. George, NB with visitation on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George, NB on Thursday at 1 pm with Pastor Eric Oram officiating. In John’s memory, donations to Canadian Mental Health Association, NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
