David Fraser

David William Scott Fraser, age 50, of Westville, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with his family by his side.
Born in West River Station, December 3, 1963, he is a son of Margie (Hoegg) Fraser, West River Station and the late Bert Fraser.
David received his machinist trade at Pictou Co. Vocational School. He later took up the interest of carpentry, working in Ontario for several years. While working there he took a crew to Europe to build Canadian style homes. He returned to Nova Scotia to start his own business D.W. Fraser Construction, and most recently worked at Rainbow Lake, Alberta.
He will be sadly missed by his mother Margie; his beloved wife Kathy MacNaughton; step-children, Lindsay Fanning (Scott); Nathan Hale (Karley Deagle); his pride and joy, grandchildren: Brody and Ella Fanning and Mylie and Connor Hale; sisters and brothers: Barb Hennigar (Bill), Rob Fraser, Rosalie Lavoie (Serge), Cathy Lewis (Jack), John Fraser (Kelly), Glen Fraser (Kim), Eldred Fraser (Lori), and Derek Fraser (Helen); friend and mentor John Seaman; special niece and nephew Laura and Dan Lavoie; father-in-law Lew MacNaughton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lou Anne MacNaughton, Carol MacLean (Doug), Robbie MacNaughton (Bonnie Scott), Wendy MacLean (Billy), Judy DeCoste (Joe), Kelly MacNaughton (Mike Wilson), Mike MacNaughton (Marlene), and Bill Chaulker; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was predeceased by his father Bert; mother-in-law Joyce MacNaughton; and sister-in-law Lynn Chaulker.
David is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Gairloch with Bonnie Langille and Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Cremation will follow.
Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Lodge that Gives, Halifax.
