Purvis, Joan Ann(Johnson), 70 of Glenelg passed away August 6, 2014 at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Antigonish she was a daughter of Jane(Auld)Johnson and the late Walace A. Johnson.
She was a loving faithful wife to Sterling G.Purvis for 49 years, and a loving, amazing mother to her 3 children.
Joan graduated from St. Ann’s Nursing School, having been employed at the Aberdeen Hospital for some 32 years and also with the Nunivat Health Authority
She is survived by her husband Sterling G. Purvis, her children Carol A. Chabassol, Beatrice J. Cowan, and Ritchie A.D. Purvis, grandchildren, Heather Cowan, Samantha Cowan, Susan Chabassol, Kowisha Chabassol, Carlyn Purvis, Garyn Purvis and Sophia Purvis, a brother Robert Johnson, a sister Lorna Decoste.
She was predeceased by her father Walace A. Johnson.
Cremation to take place.
As per Joan’s wishes there will be no visitation. A family service will be announced at a later date.
