Age 77, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Grand River Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010.
Born in Souris, P.E.I., she was the daughter of Christina (Longphee) and William Bushey.
Jane was predeceased by her husband, Louis, of 53 years. Survived by her children, Christine Cheverie (Glen Andrews) of Cambridge, Mary Podhorny of Kitchener, Beverley Cheverie (Joe Hanratty) of Dartmouth, N.S., Louis Cheverie Jr. of Sarnia, Brenda (Tim McLaughlin) of Mooretown, Margaret (Rob Campbell) of Guelph, Sheila Cheverie (Dave Sine) of Kitchener, David Cheverie of Guelph, Karen Cheverie of St. Catharines; daughter-in-law, Mary (Cheverie) Whynne of Souris, P.E.I.; son-in-law, Danny Shirley of Elora; and 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her children, Catherine, Francis and Darlene; brother, Peter; daughter-in-law, Kelly; and son-in-law, Ossie.
Jenny worked for many years as a nurses\' aide in P.E.I., N.S., and Ontario. She was an avid reader and her pastimes included knitting and sewing. Jenny had a strong sense of family and held a deep commitment to her faith. Nanny will be forever remembered for her unconditional love and support.
A memorial mass was held on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at St. John\'s Church (45 Victoria Rd. N., Guelph) at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Spring interment to take place in Souris, P.E.I., at St. Mary\'s Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
