The death occurred suddenly at home in St. Peter & St. Paul on Wednesday August 6, 2014, of Roger J. Martin aged 71 years. He was born in Tignish on June 11, 1943, the son of the late Ralph and Alice (Doucette) Martin. He is survived by brothers and sisters Eunice (Melvin) Bernard, Summerside; Jerome (Rena) Martin, B.C.; Roger (Annie) Martin, St. Peter & St. Paul; Omer (Charlene) Martin, St. Felix; Armand (Julia) Martin, St. Peter & St. Paul; Lucille McPhail, Ontario; Marina (Donnie) Doucette, Nail Pond; and Lester (Doris) Martin, Wellington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Alice, a son Kenny in 2005. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road. No visiting hours as a personal request. Funeral will be held Monday, August 11, at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish, where funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Brendan Gallant at 10:30 a.m. Cremated remains will be interred in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
