WATSON, ROBERT - 1934 - 2014 - Robert Watson, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his loving family on August 7, 2014. Born in Newtongrange, Scotland, he was the son of the late George and Sarah Watson. Robert will be sadly missed by his loving wife Doreen of 25 years, children; Gordon (Kim), Gail (Grant) Boland, Wendy (Danny) Campbell, Ian (Donna), Barb DeCecco, Ken (Shauna), step-children; Katherine Swan (Michael LeBlanc), Bob Swan (Bonnie), Don Swan (Diane), Rick Swan (Anna), brothers; Eddy and Dan, sister Helen Stavert, 16 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brothers John and Bill. Robert had a long career with Canada Packers\Maple Leaf Foods, he was very involved with the Masonic Lodge in P.E.I and Riverview, N.B., and he was also involved with the Luxor Shriners, Lodge of Perfection and Scottish Rite and many other affiliations. Robert had a strong passion for golf, enjoying the early morning games with his buddy Ed Curtis, and enjoyed many other athletic activities.
A Masonic service will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 7:00pm, all are welcome to attend. A reception to celebrate Robert’s Life will follow in the Garden View Reception Room. The family would like to thank the staff at Serenacare, the Nursing Staff of the 5200 Ward of The Moncton Hospital especially Fran and Albert as well as Dr. Julie Arsenault and Dr. Goldberg for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
