The death occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, of Reginald “Reg” Angus Gallant of O’Leary, aged 84, beloved husband of Georgina (nee MacKenzie). Born at Kelly Road on May 30, 1930, son of the late Paul and Margaret (Arsenault) Gallant. Dear father to John (Sheila Hughes), Charlottetown; Jocelyn (Michael) Arsenault, Miscouche; Norman (Miriam), Lower Sackville, N.S.; Pam, Miscouche and Todd (Natalie), Locke Road. Loving grandfather to Cody, Mindy, Luke, Morgan, Conner, Nataiya, Tyscen and Joshuah. Great-grandfather to Jaxon and Caleb. Reg is also survived by his sister Mary Perry, Belleville, Ont.; brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Marguarite) MacKenzie, Prince George, B.C.; Charlie (Joyce) MacKenzie, North River; Marian L. MacLean and Barb MacKenzie, Charlottetown. Predeceased by his parents, daughter Lilla, brothers Joe, Elmer and sisters Lucy and Zena Jeffery. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Tuesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery. Memorials, in memory of Reg, to the O’Leary Community Health Foundation or Bloomfield United Church Cemetery would be appreciated.
