Donald E "Don" Worsley

Worsley, Donald E. “Don”- 81, Truro. The passing of Donald E. “Don” Worsley occurred at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on Saturday, August 9, 2014. Born on August 3, 1933 in Halifax, he was the son of the late Elmer and Florence Worsley. Don grew up in Armdale and in his earlier years enjoyed sailing and racing. He also excelled at a number of sports including fastball, football and hockey. As a member of the Greenwood Bombers, he enjoyed his on-field exploits in football. Don served as a flying officer (Navigator), flying the Lancaster for the R.C.A.F. He was dedicated to his wife of nearly 60 years, Jean. Don was employed with 3M Canada, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially BBQ’s on Sunday afternoons. Don is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Aucoin); daughter, Patricia (Andy) Lyall, Enfield; sons, Donald (Vickie), Brentwood, Michael (Angela), Onslow, John (Cathie), Hilden; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Frank, Brandon, MB. Don was predeceased by his grandson, Jason. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 14 at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. A reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
