DEVILLER, Reginald George - age 97, of Yarmouth, passed away on August 13, 2014 in Veterans Place, Yarmouth. Born in Comeau’s Hill on November 4, 1916, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Eva (Smith) DeViller. Reginald is survived by his children, Lawrence (Eileen) DeViller, Brazil Lake; Ida (William) DeViller, Yarmouth; Velma (Gerald) Scott, Plymouth; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Jacquard) DeViller; daughter, Georgette Saulnier; Sylvaine and Emile Fitzgerald who raised Reginald; brothers, Francis, Anthony and Joseph; half brother, Joseph Jacquard; half sister, Doris Clairmont. Reginald worked on OK Service Boats. He worked as a Light House Keeper on Pease Island and he retired after 25 years on the Bluenose Ferry. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday, August 15, with prayers in the afternoon and a Royal Canadian Legion service at 8:15 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Comeau’s Hill, Father Gerald David officiated. An interment was held in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in Reginald’s memory may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund, Veterans Place, or a charity of ones choice.
