CHISHOLM, LORETTA D - LORETTA D. CHISHOLM, 92, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital. Born on April 17, 1922 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Winnie (Melanson) Savoie. Loretta worked as a secretary with RCAF Recruiting Centre during the war and after the war, she worked with the Unemployment Insurance Commission as well as with NB Tel in Saint John for many years. A hospital auxiliary volunteer for over 30 years, she was past Provincial President and life member of the N.B. Hospital Auxiliary Association, past president of Sussex Hospital Auxiliary, president of Moncton Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, past president and life member of St. Augustine’s CWL Council and past secretary of Moncton Area Council of Churches. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Chisholm of Moncton; grandson, Aaron Chisholm (Erin) of Fredericton; great-grandson, William; granddaughter, Erica Brooks (Devin) of Nova Scotia; three sisters-in-law: Joan Hoffman (late Don) of Moncton, Sister Kathleen Chisholm, CND, of Charlottetown, PEI, and Lillian Savoie of Bathurst; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Doug (2009); her son, David (2011); one sister, Lillian; two brothers: Victor and Roy; one sister-in-law, Audrey.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion Street, Moncton on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Loretta, a contribution to the N.B. Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
