CORMIER, RHEAL “COCO” - 1966 - 2014 - Harness Racing lost one of the best caretakers in the industry on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 in Montague, PEI. Nobody can take credit for rubbing as many champions as Rheal “Coco” Cormier. He was one of a kind and took great pride in his profession. He was sought after by many of the greatest trainers and was always given the best they had and it was for a very good reason.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of Noel and Simonne (née: Roy) Cormier. He was a Horse Groomer in the U.S.A. and his favorite horse was “Donerail”. Rheal is survived by his parents: Noel and Simonne of Dieppe; one brother, Serge (Tara) of Quispamsis; maternal grandmother, Yvonne Roy of Dieppe; two nephews: Nicholas and Noah as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends in the horse racing industry.
By request, no visitation at the funeral home. Celebration of the word will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Wednesday, August 20th, 2014, at 10:30 am. Interment in the Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB. Donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.chartersville.com
