BARTER, FRANCIS CHARLES - On Saturday, August 16, 2014, Francis Charles Barter left this earth to be with the love of his life Patsy Anne Williams. Born October 15, 1928 in Yarmouth, NS. Frank was raised in rural Nova Scotia, the son of a Station Master. At the age of 16, he left Nova Scotia for New York to begin an adventurous life. Nobody ever tired of listening to the wonderful tales of his life and many adventures. He decided to pursue a career in accounting, this is when he met his beautiful wife in Moncton, NB, they married and moved to Halifax where Frank began his career with NCR (National Cash Register). He transferred to Sydney, NS, where they raised their family until 1979. Frank was given the opportunity to become his own boss, he purchased a “Sam the Record Man” franchise in Moncton, NB. These were wonderful years for Pat and Frank. Being a part of the Music industry was the highlight of Frank’s life. Through the business, Frank met many wonderful friends and the store continues to thrive under his name. Frank will be remembered in the hearts of all music lovers. Frank was the son of the late Frank and Nellie (Morash) Barter. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Anne (Williams) Barter, the father of three daughters; Donna (Tom) Stone of Calgary, AB, Gwenna Barter, Kelly (Darren Melanson) Barter, his son, Karl (Rhea McKeil) Barter, all of Riverview, as well as five loving grandchildren; Justine, Morgan, Chelsea, Robert and Hannah as well as several nieces and nephews. Frank is also survived by siblings; Richard Barter, Rosemary Barter,
Dorothy (Clary) McInnis, Pat (Louise) Barter, Peter (Liz) Barter, Bill Barter, Carol (Stephen) Gray, Corrine (Reg) Ware and Donnie (Doraine) Barter. Predeceased by sister Florence Palmer, brother-in-law John Palmer, sister-in-law Wilma and sister-in-law Katie.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with Parish Prayers and Sharing Memories at 8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church 5 Fatima Dr. Riverview on Wednesday at 11:00am. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations in Frank’s memory may be made to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
