The death occurred at his late residence, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, of Douglas “Blondie” Guitare, of Miminegash, aged 71 years.
Born in Saint John, N.B., he was the son of the late Simon and Bridget (Deagle) Guitare. Survived by his wife, Alice (Gaudet) Guitare; children, David (Donna Heim), Halifax, N.S.; Darren, Calgary, AB; Robert (Debbie Trainor), Brackley; Kevin (Jennifer), O’Leary; and Cathy Guitare (Vincent McRae), Summerside; grandchildren, Brandon, Emily, Shannon, Alysha and Jeremy; sisters, Eileen Ward, Cecilia O’Reiley, Doreen “Patsy” Cormier and Dianna Paul.
Predeceased by his son, J.D. Leonard Guitare; brothers, Leonard, Joseph William, Henry and Walter Guitare; sisters, Melvina Degrichie, Theresa Dickson, Shirley-Ann and Eva Guitare.
Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside.
Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
