GALLANT, GÉRALD - (1940 - 2014) - Collette, NB - Surounded by his family, Gérald Gallant, formerly of Moncton, passed away at the Foyer Assomption of Rogersville, on August 16, 2014, at the age of 73, following a battle with cancer. Born August 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Leon and Alice ( born McGraw) Gallant of Collette, NB. Gérald worked for Transport Canada as an electronic technician in Moncton until his retirement in 1996. Gérald was also a past member of the Knights of Colombus and enjoyed hunting and fishing through out the years. He was also an avid card player and enjoyed this hobby until his health deteriorated recently. Gérald is survived by his ex-wife Marielle Gallant (born Henri) of Moncton, his daughter Lynn (Lloyd) of Rogesrville, his sons: Denis (Nancy) of Moncton and Daniel (Donna) of Memramcook; his six grandchildren: Renée, Christian, Julien, Annie, Isabelle and Caitlin whom he truly adored. Gérald is also survived by his brother Richard Gallant of Halifax; his sisters: Jeanne Roy (Armand) and Irene Wells (Johnny), both of Moncton, and Cecilia Gallant (Ronald) of Collette; as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 pm on Thursday,
August 21, 2014. The funeral will be held at the Saint-François-de-Sales Roman Catholic Church in Rogersville, on Friday, August 22, at 11am. Visiting Hours: Thursday, August 21, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday, August 22nd, from 9:30am until the departure for the funerals.
