John Joseph “Jackie” MacNeil - 70, Sydney
It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of John Joseph “Jackie” MacNeil of Gunn St., on Aug. 17, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sydney, to the late John F. and Mary MacNeil. Jackie is survived by his children, Gordon MacNeil and Juanita (Francis) Parsons, also survived by sisters, Deloris MacPherson, Ann Miller, and Marie Wright.
Besides his parents, Jackie is predeceased by his wife Priscilla (Howley) MacNeil, he is also predeceased by siblings, France, Peter and Gordie MacNeil.
Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, Sydney, with Rev. Sheldon Chant Officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Pallitive Care Unit, Cancer Care Unit, VON, and the Doctors who took such good care of dad during his illness.
Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
