DEVEAU, GERARD "GERRY" J. - Gerard “Gerry” J. Deveau, 65, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Born in Acadieville, he was the son of the late Alcime and Marie-Jeanne (Daigle) Deveau. Gerry was a Painting Contractor and attended Charity Bible Baptist Church. An avid Montreal Canadiens fan, his hobbies also included fishing and hunting; first and foremost Gerry loved spending precious time with his family and friends. Gerry will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 46 years, Joanne (Bastarache) Deveau; sons, André Deveau (Lisa Babineau) and Francis Deveau (Heidi Wood); daughter, Kathy Deveau (Wade Walton); fourteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Thérèse Cormier (Normand), Dionne LeBlanc (Henry), Alice Bastarache (Ovide) and Julienne; brothers, Yvon (Sylvia), Rosaire (Lucy), Hector, Neri (Nelida), Clem and Livain. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Carmella, Dorca and Bernice; brother, Joseph.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service for Gerry will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:00 am with Pastor Phil Seely officiating. Reception at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (77 Hildegard Drive) following the service. Interment, Acadieville Cemetery, Acadieville.
