GUNDERSON
John Arthur “Art” Gunderson, aged 89 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18th, 2014 at Pioneer Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jeannette in 2009; his mother, Clazina in 1985; and father, Martin in 1982. Art was born and raised in Kipling, SK. He attended school and later began his working career as a crawler tractor operator building roads in the area. In October 1949, he and Jeannette married in Broadview, eventually settling in Moose Jaw where they resided until their passing. He was a long-time member of the Elks Club Drill Team and enjoyed his travels with the group. Art eventually took over the family farm in Kipling and after dedicating many years of hard work, retired in the spring of 2005. Art will be lovingly remembered by his three children: David (Leanne), Sharon (Dale Langford) and Trevor (Kim); his grandchildren: Karli (Jon), Janson (Sharon), Tyler (Elise), Kevin (Lisa), Carrie, Candice and Randi; brother, Melvin (Marion); brother-in-law, Alex Wyllie; and sister-in-law, Florence Weber. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Pioneer Lodge. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last few months were a heart-warming blessing to the entire family. We are thankful for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. He will be missed and loved forever. In keeping with Art’s wishes, there will be no Funeral Service. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those so wishing, memorial donations may be made in Art’s memory to The Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK, S7H 0S5. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Calvin Gammel, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
