Geraldine "Gerri" Mary Fitzgerald

Passed on: August 16th, 2014

(September 8, 1946 - August 16, 2014)
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Geraldine "Gerri" (Hearn) Fitzgerald, aged 67, on August 16, 2014, at St. Vincent's Nursing Home. Gerri was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late Mary (Butler) and Raymond Hearn. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Leon. They danced hand in hand through life together, and his love, commitment, and tender devotion sustained her throughout her 25 year journey with Parkinson's. Gerri lives on in the hearts of her daughters, Krista (Randy) Wall (St. John's), and Clare (Martin) Tasse (Sackville). Nanny will be lovingly remembered by her adoring grandchildren, Jesse, Nicholas, and Makena. She is also survived by her devoted sisters and brothers, Carmelita Hearn (Halifax), Clare (Charles) Oldford (Point Edward), Frank Hearn (St. John's), Brian (Melvie) Hearn (St. John's), and Raymond Hearn (Virginia, USA), and her much loved nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her circle of friends and all who knew the light of her friendship. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at St. Vincent's for their exceptional and tender care for Gerri and our family. Visitation will be held at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd, on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23th at 1 p.m. from Caul's Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully accepted. Donations in remembrance of Gerri may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Canada, Maritime Region, the St. Vincent's Nursing Home Foundation, or any charity close to your heart.

"Our memories of love will be of you." LD, Geraldine Mary-
