Lucie Besso (nee Marchant)

June 14, 1924 - August 20, 2014. This kind, gracious and gentle lady passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on August 20, 2014, age 90 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond (RAF WWII) of 51 years. A war bride, she arrived on the SS Scythia in March1946. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Yvonne who was her primary caregiver for many years, son Chris (Rose), brother Ken (Myrtle) and sisters Patricia Officer and Gail Kent of England; brother Bob (Shelia) and Helena Moxham of Australia; sister-in-law Lorretta Maloney (Michael), brothers-in-law James and William Besso of Holyrood and Charles House of Stephenville Crossing; special family friends Irene and Allan Benoit, Carol Cook, and Jackie Ballard, longtime friend Agnes Philpott of Toronto, Vincent Butler of the D.V.A. Pavillion and childhood friend Betty Sarton of Kent England, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Cremation has taken place as per her request. No visitation. Funeral mass to be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11a.m. from St. Teresa's, Mundy Pond Road. Donations in her memory may be made to Iris Kirby House, Canadian Cancer Society (Daffodil Place) or a charity of one's choice.
