COLE, ROBERT BOOTH - The passing of Robert Booth Cole of Fredericton, NB, husband of Therese (Valcourt) Cole occurred on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the York Care Centre. Born on October 29, 1935 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Herbert and Winifred (Thomas) Cole. Bob worked at Unipress on the printing presses and the camera department for over 40 years. He was a member of the Barker’s Point Lions Club and Union President for a number of years with GCIU. He loved spending time on the Portobello taking pictures of wildlife. Bob lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing music, bowling, spending time at his cottage at Lake George, the camp on Portobello, photography and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife of 48 years, Bob is survived by his son, Brian Robert Cole; brothers, Gordon (Marie) of Fredericton, NB, Albert (Beatrice) of Brampton, ON and Michael (Nancy) of Fredericton, NB; sisters-in-law, Jean of Fredericton, NB and Hazel Cole both of Fredericton, NB, Suzanne Pare (Rock) of Mount Airy, MD and Carmen Domanico of Maryland; brother-in-law, John Valcourt (Albina) of Welland, ON and Richard Mathieu of New Hampshire; special cousin, Eileen Shank of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald (Frances), Gerry (Connie), Charles, Kenneth and Harold; brother-in-law, Roger Mathieu of Vermont.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. Private Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
