WATSON, PAUL RUSSELL - Paul Russell Watson of Pennfield, New Brunswick, husband of Catherine (Young) passed away unexpectedly at home on August 21, 2014. Born in Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick on April 23, 1943 he was a son of the late Earl V. and Jessie (Shaw) Watson. In addition to his wife of forty five years, Paul was survived by his daughters Loretta Hanlon (Tim) of Pennfield, Paulette Hicks (Rick) of Quispamsis, Carrie Mawhinney (Evan) of Maces Bay and son Paul (Megan) Watson of Saint John; six grandchildren, Mitchel, Kelsey, Matthew, Thomas, Colby, Rachael; two step grandchildren, Kathy and Robert; two step great-grandchildren, James and William; eight sisters, three brothers and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his brothers: Maurice, Arthur, Murray and Keith. Paul was dedicated to his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Paul served forty four years as a member of Labourers Local 900 and worked on many construction projects throughout Southern New Brunswick, including Point Lepreau, Harbour Station, CenterBeam, Refinery, St. George Dam Project and countless other projects. Paul retired in Pennfield, NB where he was an avid fisherman, having enjoyed fishing on the Bay of Fundy his entire life.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visitation on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 from the Pennfield Baptist Church at 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow in the church hall. The interment will take place in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In Paul's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
