HOPEY, COLEEN JULIA - It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Coleen Hopey on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at home. Coleen loved music and spending her summers camping with her wonderful friends. She is survived by her husband, David Hopey and her son, Nicholas Hopey, her greatest joy in life; her father, Peter Kroon; sister, Ellen Daigle (Danny); brothers, Jon Kroon (Sherry), Wilt (Lori) and Jeff; as well as nephews and nieces. Coleen was predeceased by her mother, Willemina (Boekee) Kroon.
There will be no visitation at the family’s request. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery.
